Lu Song Yuan is a traditional compound of quadrangle composing
of 5 courtyards. It lies at the centre of the ancient city, in
an old styled "hutong" (Mongolian for water well) in
the eastern part of the city. Hutongs and quadrangles are
typical Beijing architectural structures. Hutongs are ancient
styled lanes unique in Beijing while quadrangles are the  main
structures inside hutongs.
Beijing Lu Song Yuan Hotel witnessed the history and
legends of Beijing. The hotel building is famous for its
imperial living taste of the Qing Dynasty with a history of
nearly 170 years. The original owner of this large private
house was the Grand General Zeng Ge Ling Qin, who invested in
building this typical quadrangle courtyard and lived here
while he carried out top official duties, such as defense
minister, etc.
